Don't you just love statements from nameless reps at companies? It seems they always manage to say the exact opposite of another rep. Case in point, the statement from a Blizzard rep yesterday about cross-platform play for Diablo III. The rep flat-out said it was a case of when, not if. Following that statement, we now have a second comment from a different, nameless Blizzard rep. They're saying that cross-platform play isn't planned right now.

“While we love the idea of bringing our players together across platforms, we do not have any plans to implement cross-platform gameplay for Diablo at this time.”

Which side do you believe? I guess we go with today's statement, as it's a reaction to the first statement making the rounds yesterday. Not the news we want to hear, but the news that's most likely accurate.
