GN Version 5.0

Hollow Knight took quite some time to hit Switch, which left Nintendo fans waiting quite awhile to get any version of the game. Hollow Knight was originally planned for release on Wii U, but that ended up getting scrapped for the Switch version. In an interview with Game Informer, Team Cherry talks about making that tough decision.

“It was hard because we loved the Wii U and we’d promised to get the game on there. But looking at the time frame, the Switch was fast becoming the main Nintendo console and our backers were already moving over. When we made the change, backers were excited for the shift and Nintendo was tremendously supportive through the process.”
