Kickstarter coming for the GameCube Adapter Pro, a GameCube controller adapter/charging station/Switch stand all in one

1. What is the GameCube Adapter Pro?

The GameCube Adapter Pro is a GameCube adapter, charging station and portable stand for the Nintendo Switch- all in one small package.

2. Why are you making this?

I have been a fan of Super Smash Bros since the N64 and since Melee came out, I haven’t wanted to play smash with anything other than a GameCube controller! Now that the Nintendo Switch is here and Ultimate is just around the corner, I got to thinking- How am I going to use my GameCube controller in portable? Thus the idea was born.

3. Is this going to brick my Switch?

Short answer- No.

Longer answer- The GameCube Adapter Pro is not a dock for the Switch. It works the same way as Nintendo’s GameCube Adapter for the Wii U with more features. Nintendo’s own GameCube adapter would need to brick your Switch for the GameCube Adapter Pro to do the same. I currently use my prototypes to play Mario Kart with the GameCube controller and my Switch is doing great!

4. Is this going to slide around and damage my Switch?

Nope. It has rubber feet built in to keep the GameCube Adapter Pro and your Switch securely gripped to whatever flat surface you are playing it on.

5. Can I use this with my TV?

The GameCube Adapter Pro doesn’t have HDMI output. I decided not to pursue this because there have been a lot of reports of 3rd party docks bricking the Switch. It does, however, come with a cable that allows you to connect it to the official Nintendo Switch dock (or any 3rd party dock) and hook it up to the TV.
