Well now we have a major example of why December games from the previous year should be included in it's release year.

How is Xenoblade Chronicles 2 completely shafted from any nomination? It would likely have won best music and best RPG if they didn't forget about it.

Good to see Spider-Man and Octopath getting some love here

So I wonder what they're going to do about Smash Ultimate :')

Exactly. Wtf is with it not at least being nominated in the best RPG category? That's so depressing. While I would've loved for it to have been in the running for game of the year, it not even being in the best RPG category really stings.

Not a lot of Nintendo up there, but I have to admit, it was an off year for Nintendo after an incredible 2017. I'm pretty sure 2019 will be filled with some fantastic stuff, starting with Smash Bros in late 2018 and headed toward new Pokemon, Fire Emblem and Metroid (probably) in the next year.

Though like Stasky mentioned before, it's unfortunate Xenoblade Chronicles 2 hasn't gotten more recognition. I thought it was a long, fun, and satisfying experience with great music and endearing characters.

It was a retreading year, mainly porting a selection of Wii U games in the first half of the year, while dedicating the rest to spin offs.

I do wonder if they'll stick to their guns and release all the 2019 games or if any will be pushed to the next year.

Finally with that many main games I wonder if Metroid Prime 4 will release next year. I bet we'll see it, but it may still be a 2020 release.

This year, God of War and RDR2 will take all of the major awards

This isn't strictly fan choice, is it? The popular games will win every category due to exposure alone

So, the best part of this year's awards will be the revels. Yay!

Sad that there won't be any mention of Smash this year as it's a December game, and sad that it won't be mentioned next year as it's a 2018 game.
