As we said yesterday, Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime is out in full-force to promote the Switch this holiday season. He's making the rounds with media, doing all sorts of interviews on a wide range of topics. You can check out a big rundown of what Reggie had to say below.

- Nintendo always thinks about launching key games during key selling seasons
- Nintendo has expectations about when Metroid Prime 4 is going to be released, and the game is well into development
- Nintendo typically likes to promote games six months to a year out from launch
- that said, there are times for strategic reasons that games are promoted earlier
- it depends on the game, and how the consumer is going to respond to the particular message
- Nintendo thinks deeply about the sequencing of their games
- if a game isn't ready, Nintendo will push out the development in order to make sure that it is as strong as possible
- Nintendo has a strong commitment to the work/life balance
- the goal with every system is to launch an iconic execution within a particular franchise
- these releases need to be exceptionally compelling in order to achieve sales for a long time
- Nintendo also always strives to create new content outside of franchises, and wants to create things fans haven't considered
- Nintendo likes to take their franchises and do something new for mobile iterations, rather than just transferring them over
- Mario Kart Tour will have that 'key Mario Kart DNA but be different and optimized for a mobile experience'
- when it comes to collaborations, Nintendo looks to see if a company shares the same values as Nintendo
- Nintendo wants to make sure their intellectual property will be showcased in a way that's consistent
- how Nintendo effectively utilizes their intellectual property outside of games is important to the company
- when it comes to Netflix and other streaming services, Nintendo is 'exploring a range of different opportunities'
- when those projects are ready, Nintendo will make an announcement
- the pre-sale trends for Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokemon: Let's Go are the best they’ve ever seen on Switch
- Nintendo has worked hard to make sure Switch game/hardware/accessory stock is good for the holiday season

To wrap things up, Reggie had this to say about the future content you can expect from Nintendo.

“(There are) brand new surprises that that we haven’t yet shared. What we want to do is surprise and delight our fans in ways that they didn’t even think of.”
