The six main titles for EVO Japan 2019 have been revealed. There's probably one title you're expecting to see in that list, but it's not there.

・TEKKEN 7
・BLAZBLUE CROSS TAG BATTLE
・SOULCALIBUR VI
・STREET FIGHTER V ARCADE EDITION
・THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV
・GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2

Many people were shocked to not see Smash Bros. Ultimate included, and the same goes for Dragon Ball FighterZ. It seems EVO knew there would be backlash, as they included the following message with their reveal.

We will be working with the gaming communities to support the other titles not included.

Wondering why those games aren't going to be included? EVO director of global business development, Mark “MarkMan” Julio shared this on Twitter.

“Not every title was included in the main event that we originally hoped for. We couldn’t get approval from the publisher/owner. As unfortunate as this may be, we will still be supporting the communities and events at Evo Japan 2019 — more information on that later

And personally, I think the community working together to run Smash Ultimate and DBFZ is going to be awesome and I can’t wait to show the publisher/owners the strength of the community."

In other words, it seems like Nintendo and Bandai Namco might have something to do with those titles not being part of the event.
