GN Version 5.0

In the last week or so, we've heard news of Dragon Ball FighterZ being pulled from tournaments. The biggest news came from Evo Japan, where many expect the game to be a shoe-in for the big show. When the news came out that it wasn't going to be included in the lineup, many wondered if the rights holder for Dragon Ball was to blame. Looks like we can rule that out now.

Toei Animation has addressed the matter publicly on Twitter. The account said that they have 'no knowledge' of preventing Dragon Ball FighterZ from appearing at tournaments. That certainly narrows down the potential blockers, leaving Bandai Namco and...not much else! It'll be interesting to see if Bandai Namco releases a statement on the matter.
