GN Version 5.0

For awhile now, people have been saying that they want a traditional Virtual Console service on the Switch. Nintendo has said that their Switch Online NES app is the way things will be handled when it comes to classic content. The service itself isn't a bad idea by any means, but the trickle-feed of games and the NES-only titles are what's rubbing people the wrong way. The thing is, it looks like that might be changing in the near future.

Dataminer Kapu has been sniffed around the Switch Online NES app, and he noticed something very interesting. Tucked deep inside the data was mention of 22 different SNES games. The lineup includes...

- Super Mario Kart
- Super Soccer
- Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
- Demon's Crest
- Yoshi's Island
- Stunt Race FX
- Kirby's Dream Course
- Pop'n Twinbee
- Star Fox
- Contra 3
- Kirby Super Star
- Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
- Kirby's Dream Land 3
- Super Metroid
- Super Mario World
- Pilotwings
- F-ZERO
- Star Fox 2
- Super Punch-Out!!
- The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
- Super Mario All-Stars
- Breath of Fire 2

It's not a big leap to think that the mtnion of these titles in the app's data would indicate that SNES games will soon be added to the service. That would go a long way to please fans, and I don't think anyone would be upset to see them added. Let's hope that's indeed the case!

Thanks to Sligeach_eire for the heads up!
