A major media player could soon be making its way to Switch. Jean-Baptiste Kempf, the president and lead developer of VideoLan, has revealed that his team is considering bringing their VLC media player to Switch. Bringing VLC to Switch would allow users to play all sorts of video files on the platform. For those who aren't familiar, here's a quick blurb on VLC itself.

VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files, and various streaming protocols.

Since Switch doesn't have too many options when it comes to streaming video content, having something like VLC would be very welcome indeed.
