More details on New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe's first week of Japanese sales

As we reported earlier in the week, New Super Mario Bros. U took the No. 1 position on the Japanese software charts for the week, coming in with 178,512 copies sold. Now we have some follow-up info pertaining to sell-through rate.

According to Dengeki, the game managed to sell 60% of its initial retail shipment in its first week, which is pretty damn good. For comparison's sake, New Super Mario Bros. U saw a sell-through rate of 50% in its launch week.

The Wii U was truly home to some quality games. The Nintendo Dreamcast indeed. But those who never had a Wii U now get to play these games. Good for them.

Yeah I dunno what it is, I always seem to have an affinity for the underdog. Loved the Saturn, loved the Dreamcast and Gamecube, and loved the Wii U...I think the Switch is the most popular console I've owned since the SNES and Megadrive.

Often they get some exclusive gems. And the consoles are a bit... Misunderstood?

I'm happy more people get to play Wii U exclusives. There may have been a drought here and there but the extra time some of the games got really made them unique.
