SEATTLE - January 18, 2019 - Materia Collective is excited to release MENU: An Homage to Game Title Themes, a special Materia Collective community album paying tribute to menu themes from across many fan-favorite videogames. The album includes over 52 arrangements from games big and small with more than a few surprises. Titles range from the hugely popular Final Fantasy, Overwatch, and Horizon Zero Dawn to indie darlings such as Stardew Valley, Celeste, and Florence, and delightful oddities with Vagrant Story, Blue Dragon, and Ape Escape. Contributors include videogame composers John Robert Matz, Fredrik Häthén, and Chris Porter and illustrious arrangers and performers Sean Schafianski (Remastered Soundtrack series), Eric Buckholz (Hero of Time), and Reven (Sins of Hyrule). MENU: An Homage to Game Title Themes is licensed and available today.

"For many, opening and menu themes, along with their respective title cards, trigger a great sense of nostalgia," comment album producers Monica Wang and Ben Wallace. "All of these themes are composed and designed with a sense of beginning, acting as gateways towards something bigger. Specifically, we want to encapsulate the feeling of when you first played a game, be it playing a videogame for the very first time or picking up any game for the first time."

Some of the more unique offerings include a samba version of the iconic Fire Emblem main theme, a gritty blues spin of the file select theme from Super Mario 64, and a dreamy synthwave arrangement of the Myst main theme.
