High-level Pokemon GO accounts are disappearing without explanation

Well this is a bit scary, especially if you're a long-time Pokemon GO player. Reports are coming in from a handful of high-level Pokemon GO players who have lost their account. They haven't done anything wrong, and Niantic hasn't hit them with any warnings or bans. Their accounts just seem to vanish out of thin air, an Niantic hasn't been able to do anything to help. It seems tied to some sort of data corruption, but there's no explanation as to what's causing it.

With the news on this occurrence spreading, hopefully Niantic takes more notice of the issue and sets out to find a solution.
