Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer and overseer of Nintendo's development efforts, has given players an update on Metroid Prime 4's progression. In its current form, Nintendo felt that the game didn't up to their standards. They have decided to restart development, with Retro Studios now making the highly anticipated title. Takahashi says that the next update won't be for a while, but that the game ''will stand shoulder to shoulder with the past Metroid Prime series titles''.
