GN Version 5.0

Famitsu recently shared the transcript of a sit-down interview with none other than Suda51. In the interview, Suda touches on a number of things related to the No More Heroes franchise. Check out a few tidbits below, as translated by NintendoEverything.

Returning to the world of No More Heroes

It was great to talk with all the staff. Until that point there were some who I had never met face-to-face, but when I returned for TSA I think I went from being seen as ‘President Suda’ to ‘Suda who makes games with us’. Because of that I was able to re-adopt the lifestyle of the gaming workplace, and because I entered this time as a director, I was able to feel that old joy of development again. But my body and my lifestyle have undergone so many changes, and the debugging work in particular was really exhausting. (wry laugh)

On wanting to do more with Travis Strikes Again's 'Golden Dragon GP' segment

At first, I intended to spend a lot more time on ‘Golden Dragon GP’. The game was originally planned as an homage to Zero4 Champ, and it was supposed to be around the same length as that game. But then I thought if this game took ten hours while the others only took a few hours, it wouldn’t really make sense. (laughs) But someday I would definitely like to make Golden Dragon GP into a standalone game.

On the future of the No More Heroes franchise

There is a definite link between the success of this game and the production of a third game in the series – that’s what I believe. On that front I am relying on support from fans both home and abroad. I already have a plan for No More Heroes 3, as well as a basic plot, so I definitely want to make that game a reality.
