RUMOR - Nintendo working on VR content for Switch

Rumors about the Switch and VR have been circulating since before the system even saw release. Today those rumors continue on with another wave of supposed inside info.

- Nintendo could make its first VR-related announcement as early as this year
- a small, select number of traditional first-party software titles may receive VR support in the not-so-distant future

Nintendo has shown some interest in VR over the years, and they've even tied up with other companies who have interest in VR. Seeing them jump to VR on Switch would certainly be interesting, but not completely surprising. The more interesting side of things would be seeing just how things would work!

Didn't know Emily was working at/for Nintendo World Report.

Virtual Boy 2:
VR version

On a 720p screen? No thanks. Separate peripheral? I'm buying the hell out of Nintendo VR games.

Hmmm. VR games would need you to play at home, so the portability aspect o the Switch would be gone. Soan extra device for the Switch for VR does kinda make sense.

Then again I would love to VR in a park in Oslo with a beer in my hand, but I think that could get me into trouble.

Absolutely awful idea. The Switch is nowhere near powerful enough to deliver a convincing VR experience. You think Switch games look bad now (see wolfenstein II at 360p at 30fps)? Wait till they try to make a 90fps game to keep the user from vomiting. It'll hit the framerate target just fine, but it'll make you vomit due to the N64 visuals encapsulating your field of view.

Just a rumor. I mean, its rare that one of these rumors end up being the correct answer right?
