GN Version 5.0

Mortal Kombat 11 isn't all that far off from launch, which means NetherRealm devs are working overtime to not only wrap up the game, but answer questions from fans. Below is a summary of new details from various NetherRealm team members.

- player data shows that single player mode is one of the most popular ways for people to access and experience the game
- some Fatalities ideas were considered to be too over-the-top and not really functional, so they were yanked or redesigned
- the team can't comment on future plans for adding in characters from other properties
- story vignettes told in the first person by the character you're playing return
- the story will be roughly 8 hours long
- Kronica's mission in the story is rewind time and start all over
- part of that process involves her merging the timelines together so that the past meets the present
- with Johnny Cage, he's a much different guy in his 40's than he was in his 20's
- features planned to be added to the game after launch, even in the first few months, are 'pretty awesome'
- The Krypt is reconfirmed, and will be a nice surprise for players when they see the direction it has taken
