Mortal Kombat 11 is not going to try and sell you on abilities that will make you a better player. The game will have microtransactions, but they are only tied to cosmetic items. Better yet, you can just grind away to get all these items without spending a single penny.

NetherRealm has revealed an in-game currency called "time crystals," which can be purchased with real money. You spend these on cosmetic elements like skins, gear, victory animations, intros, and easy fatalities. Again, all of these can be obtained without purchasing time crystals. You'll just have to put in a bit of work to make it happen.
