Word on Mortal Kombat 11 spread earlier today when the review embargo broke, which has lead to a number of questions and concerns from fans. A number of those topics have been addressed by various people, including team members at NetherRealm. Let's break down the details on some finer points.

Single-player progression towards rewards

Some fans have already noted what seems to be issues with how much time you have to put into the game in order to get out rewards. As of right now, it seems like the ratio of rewards to playtime is just too low. Thankfully NetherRealm is already planning to tweak this. The team is going to adjust values of what you get, and this can be fixed without the user having to download a big patch. No date for this change was given, but it should be fairly soon.

What you can do offline

A couple days ago, we also touched on the topic of playing the game while not connected online. There will be some things you can't do if you're not connected to the internet. Here's a full breakdown of that content.

- cannot run A.I. character battles
- when you play offline, your profile is reset to level zero
- you won't have access to any currency you've accrued previously
- cannot access daily challenges
- Towers of Time and the Krypt are unavailable
- rewards you earn in single player are banked offline until you ping the server
- the same happens with the game's tutorial mode
- you can play through Klassic Towers, but you won't earn any rewards
- character endings you unlock through these towers do carry over
- any character customizing you do is temporary until you ping the server
- "local inventory may not update" when you play local multiplayer

Monetization

Similarly, we've also detailed various monetization aspects of Mortal Kombat 11, but there's more to learn now that the premium shop is live

- you can purchase a total of five cosmetic items right now: two skins, one intro, one taunt, and one "Kombat Kard" decal
- timers in the store indicate these items rotate out every day or so
- each item tells you where you could otherwise earn that specific reward
- there aren't any skins from Towers of Time in the shop's initial offering
- skins cost 500 Time Krystals
- a taunt is 200 Krystals
- a profile icon is 100
- you can also purchase Easy Fatality Tokens, but not Skip Fight Tokens or experience boosters as of right now
- get five tokens for 100 Krystals, or 40 for 500, or 100 for 1,00
