Nintendo has 'no plans' to announce new hardware at E3 2019

Sorry to dash your hopes

Rumors of two different Switch redesigns have been flying around for weeks now, and Nintendo has finally offered some kind of comment on the matter. Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa has stated that Nintendo has nothing to announce on possible new hardware, but Nintendo is always developing/researching new hardware internally. On top of that, Mr. Furukawa said that there are no plans to announce new hardware at E3 2019.

Does that mean there's no Switch designs in the works? Knowing how Nintendo operates, I would say they're just playing word games. Nintendo could very well announced new hardware in a Direct prior to E3, or just a few weeks after. As usual, Nintendo loves to play by their own rules.

Good, I don't need anything else to spend money on.

They'll just announce it before or after E3.

How convenient it would be for a certain company if people would stop buying Switch consoles, believing that a new model is coming soon when clearly Nintendo is saying that it's not part of their plans 🤔

Nintendo being Nintendo as usual. Those new Switches are coming, but I wonder how much truth there are in those rumours. Will be fun to see.

Noe show us some Bayonetta 3, Ninty.

That doesn't mean a new Switch model isn't coming before the end of the year. If I remember correctly, the DS Lite went from its announcement to its release in literally 5 weeks in Japan. Though it was about 4 to 5 months for the rest of the world, depending on the region.

And there's nothing to say they couldn't announce a new Switch model BEFORE E3. Pokemon isn't just Nintendo's property, I'd say Game Freak and Creatures would like Sword and Shield to have as big a reach as possible. The Switch is at the very least €100 more expensive(€200 in some cases) than previous handhelds were when Pokemon games released. The cheaper hardware was what in part allowed the series to have such monstrous sales.

I agree... I think the new Pokemon game is the PERFECT time to coincide with new hardware... especially a more portable version of hardware if the rumors are true.

Can we call the Wall Street journal liars yet?

Yes. Since they aren't always trustworthy.

that i bit sad i hoped to have a more powerful version of the Switch in this year, maybe next year we will get the more powerful version of the Switch.

Usually Nintendo would say "we don't comment on rumors or speculation" and the fact that they didn't say that this time is all the confirmation I need.
