Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package's local co-op requires two Switch units and two copies of the game

Here's a warning for those of you who are planning on getting in on the local co-op with Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package.
You're not going to be able to do any sort of split-screen local multiplayer. Some people believed that would be the case after reading this official blurb about the game.

Portable Over The Top Co-op: Fly solo, or play online with a homie and for the first time - two players can play side to side via online or local multiplayer.

If you want to enjoy that local multiplayer, you'll need a friend with their own Switch, as well as their own copy of the game. Not exactly the easy local co-op we're used to, but at least local co-op is still an option.
