GN Version 5.0

God of War director Cory Barlog is the latest to weigh in on the Sonic the Hedgehog movie. He's taking a stance we haven't really seen any big names take so far. You can find Mr. Barlog's stance below.

Really don't know how I feel about creating in this kind of world. Important to keep the pulse of the audience but this makes it harder to try something really different that, at first may seem like too much change, but on completion might surprise us.
I agree that it's important to see your vision through and have confidence in your voice. That said, I think we'd be fooling ourselves if we think the powers that be were really trying to do something new for Sonic. This seems much more like a case of executives unfamiliar with a character steering things in the wrong direction. When even SEGA themselves had reservations about the design, I think that's a strong indicator of a major issue.
