Such a shame...requiring two Switch units and two copies of the game for local side scrolling multiplayer sure lowers my interest on this game. Everything else looks alright.

im guessing a thorough rundown of everything online will be the main thing

EDIT: Oh and of course our newest addition to the smart phone app :D

Everything else looks great but where are the mystery mushrooms? I just wanna play as Greninja. Sad

Oh man the first Mario Maker looks like a prototype compared to this one. Can't wait!!

No huge surprises, but a lot of good stuff. I looks like a more complete package with more bells and whistles than the WiiU version. I'm looking forward to it.

Sounds more like Super Mario 3D World Maker

Well wow! This looks great. The online stuff even looks smashing. And a Story mode?

I went from "maaaaybe" to "Oh yeah!"

Very sad and disappointed that there is no Super Mario Bros 2/USA theme and that the different characters don't have their unique physics like floaty jump and such. That said, this game is still packed with new content and should be a ridiculously good time. The level creation options seem endless.

Also, there will no doubt be DLC in the future. The game is going to sell millions. The fact that the 3D World theme has so many exclusive features bodes well for the possibility of other themes like it down the line. That Super Mario Bros 2/USA theme I want so badly would work perfectly as a $9.99 DLC pack down the line and keep us coming back for fresh content.

I agree, a SMB2 theme would have been a really nice addition, and it was probably the thing I was hoping for most. That or Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. I was really just hoping for more themes in general, because the 3D World theme looks so much like the New SMB theme we already had.

That direct was fantastic. Just pre-loaded the game. When Fire Emblem and Astral Chain hit the eshop I will definitely be taking advantage of the voucher offer. Nintendo Switch online is slowly improving even though the voucher thing now that I think about it isnt really saving you money per-se as Switch online cost $20.

Only thing disappointing is that Nintendo seemed to drop amiibo costumes...Guess Nintendo is really giving up on amiibo..

Amiibo costumes may be a post-launch update, I dunno. My hope for post-launch content is that maybe they'll add in other "alternate styles" similar to how 3D World is separate from the other four due to 3D World having content that likely would have been a bit hard to fit into the others. My big hope is maybe Mario 2 and the Land games will be added in as those offer up some unique elements (Mario 2 of course using the throwing mechanic as it was basically an "official ROM hack" of Doki Doki Panic, Land 1 had some funky physics differences and differences in enemy behaviors, and Land 2, while closer in style to Mario 3 and World, still had some unique powerups and enemies).

I hope we get a Yoshi's island theme in the future.

I also hope they get a SMB2 pack one day. Still my fav Mario game. But no local co-op on one Switch is a tad bit... Well it's just bad since it's one of the selling points of the Switch.

But still looks great, though. But nothing is perfect.
