Fortnite's devs are getting two weeks off, but the game continues

A well-deserved rest

Fortnite is always moving and shaking. There's updates every week, little tweaks here and there, and players are constantly online aiming to get a victory royale. All of that will be going on with nary a developer at the help starting June 24th, 2019. That's because the Fortnite dev team is getting a two-week break, and won't be back until July 8th, 2019. This was announced on Fortnite's official website.

Following this week, the Epic office will be closed between June 24 - July 8. During that time, we will not have any official Fortnite Competitive Tournaments running. When we come back, our next prized tournament will be a Trios tournament on July 13th & 14th. We will still have two content updates over these weeks and you’ll be able to get all the details in the patch notes as normal.

What happens if something catastrophic goes on while the dev team is away? An Epic Games representative told Polygon that there are “measures in place to ensure we can react to major issues (should they arise).”
