Another important note about updating Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night on Switch

A few days back, we spread the word on an update for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night that was hitting PS4/XB1 players. The bug was causing progression issues, and forced players to restart their game. It was announced that players should make sure they update to Version 1.02 before starting a game.

Before you begin your playthrough, please make sure you are connected to the internet so you can download patch 1.02. Doing this will ensure you are not affected by the known issue with progress being blocked by opened chests in new areas. 505 Games highly recommends you do not play the game at all before downloading and installing the 1.02 patch.

Here's the thing, though. When it comes to Bloodstained on Switch, Version 1.02 doesn't even exist. The Switch version can be updated to Version 1.01, which is the same thing as the Version 1.02 update on other platforms. As of right now, we have no explanation as to why the version numbers are different.

Long story short, don't worry when you can't find a version 1.02 update for the Switch version on launch day. As long as you're at Version 1.01, you're good to go.
