GN Version 5.0

As was previously announced, Nintendo was hosting a special Fire Emblem: Three Houses developer demo at Japan Expo 2019. Both Toshiyuki Kusakihara (Intelligent Systems) and Genki Yokota (Nintendo) were on-hand for the presentation, which you can see in full above. Get a rundown of what was discussed below.

- the Fodlan Continent is nearly 2/3 the size of the European continent
- the game is mostly about the three main countries (Adrestian Empire, Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, Leicester Alliance + Church of Seiros)
- characters from other countries will also show up
- in the past, neighboring countries tried to invade the Fodlan Continent many times
- this is one of the main reasons that led the three countries to stop their wars and enter an alliance with the Church of Seiros
- you can scout characters from a different class than you chose at the beginning, but need to meet the requirements to do so
- when you don't meet requirements, you can simply ask a student to assist your class
- these students will join you, but only for a month
- during your free time, you can walk around the Garreg Mach Monastery and talk to the various characters
- if you’re looking for a specific student, you will be able to search for them easily via a list of characters
- if you tap a compatible figure, you can get items and various rewards
- amiibo figures of Fire Emblem characters unlock an iconic music track from their respective game
- you can use this as BGM in free battles
- the giant enemies that you will sometime encounter are very dangerous, and strategy is extremely important
- the team was interested in implementing such enemies for a while now, and it took quite a lot of testing to balance things out

Concept art for the main characters was also shown during the presentation, which you can see above.
