The Switch eShop will warn users of games with Switch Lite compatibility issues

WARNING

Earlier today, Nintendo stated that Switch game boxes would feature a new icon to let players know that a title is compatible with the Switch Lite. The eShop will do the same by including the same icon. What happens if people ignore that icon and go ahead to purchase anyway? No worries, as Nintendo has confirmed that the eShop itself will give you a warning if you try to actually purchase a title incompatible with Switch Lite.

I fail to see how in this instance, this could be a bad thing. If some ignorant person saves some money because of this I'm sure they would be grateful. This feature is objectively good

Just more hand holding, literally.

Super Mario Party... UNPLAYABLE!

Trust me that game was already like that before the Switch Lite was announced.

But what if you ignore all that and STILL end op buying an unplayable game? Can you get a refund?

Probably not, just because, it's Nintendo. But if MS can issue refunds on digital purchases, Nintendo surely has the capability. They just don't do it.

well there are reports of Nintendo Support to refund a game purchased by accident. (Or a child with their parents' credit card) But those cases are rare.

Does this mean we'll be getting horrible box art at retail now with huge warnings on the front?
