Classic Nintendo Power interview reveals Will Smith's obsession with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Just wait until Uncle Phil finds out!

Let's travel all the way back to 1992, an era where magazines were thriving. Among the print titans was Nintendo Power, keeping Nintendo fans informed of all the latest and greatest games coming their way. Sometimes Nintendo Power had special features as well, and in one particular issue, there's an interview with none other than Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Apparently Nintendo sent Will Smith a bunch of SNES games to check out, including The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Check out the interview snippet below to see how Smith got sucked into A Link to the Past, just like everyone else at the time.

Nintendo Power: How did you like the new games we sent you?

Will: I liked them all, but I definitely liked The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past best.

NP: Did you play NCAA Basketball, Will?

Will: I tried it for a little bit, but as soon as I put the Link game in... I've found the two Pendants. I need to find one more before I can get the Master Sword.

Jeff: He needs help - I called him and he didn't hear a word I said on the phone. I could hear him in the background collecting coins or something.

There's also an issue where it was reported that supposedly U2 was working on a game soundtrack
