Nino Kazuya, the director of Dragon Quest Builders and Dragon Quest Builders 2, has announced his retirement from Square-Enix. Kazuya took to Twitter to tell his fans that now's the perfect time for him to retire, as Dragon Quest Builers 2 has completely wrapped. Even though he won't be involved with day-to-day actions with Square-Enix anymore, Kazuya will work as an "outside employee" by offering up supervision for Dragon Quest Builders 2's DLC and subsequent updates. Check out Kazuya's tweet on his departure below.

Wow, I belonged to Square Enix for seven years (the longest in my career!). I felt a bit of burn out from Builders 2 and also felt like returning to a development cycle distinct from that of Square Enix, hence me deciding to journey to a new development environment."
