Everspace 2 won't come to Switch due to lack of hardware power

The first Everspace is on Switch as a Stellar Edition, but what about the sequel? The Everspace dev team gave a very honest and straightforward answer about it on Twitter, which you can find below.
Our new game is technically much more advanced than the predecessor, so it won't run on current Nintendo Switch hardware, but who knows what Nintendo will come up with in 2021!?
While it's sad to see that the game won't come over, I respect the dev's decision to be completely upfront about the situation.
