Sayonara Wild Hearts aims to be a music game that goes beyond beat-matching

Can't beat that

There are plenty of music-based games out there that marry the beat of the music to gameplay. Sayonara Wild Hearts is an upcoming rhythm game that's looking to take its connection to music a bit deeper than that. Jeff Legaspi of Annapurna Interactive explained the approach in an interview with USGamer.

"[Simogo] wanted to do something that's music-inspired, but not necessarily rhythm or beat matching like in other music-related games. [Simogo] wants the music to drive the game, and then vice-versa."

There will no doubt be some traditional music game action going on in Sayonara Wild Hearts, but the devs are looking to create an experience that ties the music in in multiple ways. We'll get to see how deep the connection goes when Sayonara Wild Hearts launches later this year.
