Inti Creates has been a big support of Switch, having released multiple titles on the platform. Their next game coming over to Switch is Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, which is the first time the Gunvolt series has been created with Switch as the base platform. In an interview with NintendoEverything, Inti Creates president Takuya Aizu discusses what working on moving from 3DS to Switch allows them to do with the Gunvolt series.

I think some of the biggest things working on the Switch compared to the 3DS is you can have more things going on on the screen, so we were able to add more enemies on screen, more bullets on the screen. You incorporate different gameplay mechanics – especially different special effects, like if you notice the cut-in images that are very famous in the Gunvolt series, those look so much nicer on the Switch as opposed to the 3DS.

The other thing is since we’re working and developing from in the beginning in full HD, we’re able to do a lot more with the UI as well, and we can make the fonts a lot nicer and cleaner. You can use smaller fonts and things like that – kind of like a more polished, more grown-up looking UI as opposed to what we had in the 3DS version. Things like that.

Hopefully Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX will find success on Switch, as it seems like Inti Creates has really poured their hearts into it. Speaking of success, Inti Creates was more than happy to confirm that Dragon Marked for Death, one of their other Switch titles, has done quite well.

We were actually gonna announce this when we put out that mid-sized update I was talking about – the one that’s coming soon – but it has sold well enough for us to be able to want to talk about it in an update, and thank the players for their support if that makes any sense. You can look forward to that soon. For us at Inti Creates, we do consider it so far to be a successful title.

What's next for Inti Creates on Switch? The company didn't share specifics, but they did mention that they're open to the idea of teaming with Sunsoft once again for the revival of one of their IPs.

I definitely think it is a possibility for sure. Again, this kind of goes back to what we were saying before, a lot of those decisions would come from if some our staff – particularly our directors – say, “Hey, I really want to make a game using X Sunsoft IP or Y Sunsoft IP.” Then I as the producer would be able to go to Sunsoft and say, “Hey, we want to do this game. What do you think?” and kind of do that negotiation part. Is it possible? Yes. And then, it would really come down to if one of our directors wants to make a game using a Sunsoft IP. That would be the first step in something like that.
