Switch firmware 9.0.1 removes Joy-Con attachment color effect

LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE

Whether by accident or intentional, Switch's firmware update to Version 9.0.1 has removed a small feature. As you can see in the image above, the Switch usually shows a quick burst of color that corresponds to your Joy-Con when you slot it into the system. For whatever reason, that feature is now missing. Obviously the Joy-Con still works, but you don't get the added bells and whistles of seeing the color splash. Not a big deal by any means, but something worth pointing out.

Not a big deal by any means but I always thought it was a nice detail. I hope this was just a mistake. Also, Nintendo needs to hurry up an drop all those user icons they are hoarding from Dragon Quest XI, Smash Bros., Astral Chain and Link's Awakening.

And, yes... I know two of those are third party games but Nintendo published these games on Switch. I'm just ready to make my icon Banjo-Kazooie or Slime.

Pointless feature, but dumb to remove it.

I hope it was on accident, it was a fun effect. I think it could have been better executed as a ripple outwards or something, but neat nonetheless.

Please tell me this was an accident...

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new colors they're adding? This is honestly a REALLY cool and beloved feature for me so I'm pretty upset to see it go, as stupid as that might sound.
