'The Wild Area' in Pokémon Sword & Shield is about "two regions from Breath Of The Wild" according to a rep from The Pokémon Company

Certainly some wild Pokémon news

Early impressions from media outlets getting hands-on time with Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield seem to be very positive. Not only are impressions positive, but lots of new information on the game has been slowly coming out, including details on how large The Wild Area will be. According to sources from Metro, a representative from The Pokémon Company gave an estimate for how large the open world area really is. "Two regions from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is a very large amount of space for some nice Pokémon exploration.

From what we've seen in maps and screenshots, I think this is an overestimation. I think it would be the size of one at best. Since the Wild Area only seems to have 2 unique environment types (grassy and desert), I hope there are plenty of varied regular routes to explore as well.

The wild area, meant for wild speculation mirite?

A game that is 10 GB claims to have regions larger than BOTW which has 13 GB.

So how can something of a low gb have something more than a higher gb?

File size is rarely representative of content. Higher file size means higher texture resolutions, more assets, lesser compression, less or lower nitrate audio etc. You could have a single room with a larger file than the entirety of BotW.
