Famitsu review scores for Oct. 23rd, 2019

Mario & Sonic beat Luigi?!

In a real shocker, Famitsu has chosen Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games over Luigi's Mansion 3 as the top-rated game for the week. I'd have to say I wholeheartedly disagree with that, even though I'm enjoying both games. Anyway, check out what other games scored in this week's issue below.

The Church in the Darkness (PS4, Switch) – 8/6/7/6 [27/40]
Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition (PS4, Switch) – 8/8/8/8 [32/40]
Etherborn (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – 7/7/7/7 [28/40]
Ghost Blade HD (Switch) – 7/7/6/7 [27/40]
Luigi’s Mansion 3 (Switch) – 9/8/8/8 [33/40]
Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (Switch) – 9/8/8/9 [34/40]
Model Debut #nicola (Switch) – 7/7/8/7 [29/40]

Wait, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games scored better than Luigi's Mansion?

I have a bunch (5?) of those Mario & Sonic games, NONE of them is great. They are ok at best (don't believe me, look at Metacritic). They consistently use abnormal user interface and overblown intros that make for mediocre games.
I've wished more than once that the Wii Party U's sport mini-games were expanded into an Olympics b/c they are SO MUCH BETTER.

The last Luigi's Mansion game was GREAT!
...I'm now worried...
How could the latest in a 'meh' series be better than the latest in a 'GREAT' series!?

It’s only the opinion of the four reviewers, and Luigi’s Mansion only scored one point lower. I wouldn’t take it as it’s a bad game.
