GN Version 5.0

Tank Maniacs is a chaotic couch party game for one to four players. You and your fellow pilots will battle it out in post-apocalyptic arenas reminiscent of the once beautiful landscapes of our planet. Your task is simple: eliminate the competition in any way possible. To ensure the unfairness of these encounters, the showrunner will bombard you with environmental hazards and powerful upgrades that can turn the tide of battle in a heartbeat. Engage in free-for-all or team-based combat with friends, or try beating the unforgiving AI bots. If you want to be successful in the arena, you’ll have to master the weird tanks with various gameplay mechanics and familiarize yourself with the different maps that offer a wide range of challenges. Or you can just shoot your friends to bits, that’s fine too.

Story

The year 20xx. After the Post-Nuclear War most of the population is gone. A brilliant man called the ‘Showrunner’ created Tank Maniacs to be the main source of entertainment for the remaining folk. He’s selected the most infamous veterans and exotic warrior creatures from all over the world to have them fight in his carefully designed arenas. They’re kept in his city-sized zeppelin with a fully functioning tank factory inside until they’re ready for a match.

Worlds

Pilots may fight in the most imaginative and peculiar arenas from all over the Post-Nuclear world. Gotta feed that audience not only with violence but amazing places they’ll never be able to visit. Or dreadful places. Mostly dreadful ones.

Death Valley

Western atmosphere with a spaceship view. Once called the ‘Amazonian rainforest’ this desert valley gave home to a western village until a huge alien spaceship landed there. The battle of aliens and cowboys broke out. Cowboys couldn’t hold too long with their lassoos against laser weapons. No one knows what happened to the aliens after their victory though. They’ve completely disappeared. The radiation and heat still coming from the spaceships engines cause dangerous weather conditions like lethal atomic winds in the whole area. Some say the man called ‘Showrunner’ turned up near the spaceship a couple of times...

Grasslands

These beautiful hills give home to more than just butterflies and the occasional possessed sheep. Beyond the fabulous rainbows that cross these tranquil valleys there’s something else… Some ominous entity that one could not possibly comprehend. From the ancient roman buildings set the land a gigantic sculpture risen to judge all. Legend has it’s glowing red laser eyes can see into one’s soul. It knows if one pirates games, and God help them if they do.

Swamp

Hi, crocodile! Eating up a few tanks, are you? - Well, what would you expect of giant mutant crocodiles that live under a thick layer of oil with nothing but a couple of baby seals keeping them company? This swamp is one of the very few places on Earth that hasn’t run dry on oil yet, and boy, isn’t it just lovely. A location that truly inspires poems. And war.

Tank Maniacs has been confirmed for the Switch, but we don't know the release date at this time. We'll bring you those details when they become available.
