The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel 3 announced for Nintendo Switch

The Legend Of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel 3 Switch

The following quote comes from GameSpot:

Coming sometime in Spring 2020, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 will launch on the Nintendo Switch in the U.S. and Europe ahead of the Japan release--which is something of a first for the franchise. Earlier this year, Nihon Falcom president Toshihiro Kondo stated that he hoped to get more games on the Nintendo's portable console following the Switch release of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana. Published by NIS America, a Switch demo for Trails of Cold Steel 3 will also be available shortly around the time of the game's launch.

I don't know who is going to buy 3 when 1 and 2 aren't on the same platform

Yeah this. I expect the game would not perform well because its based on a series continuation so the first two are required inorder to play this one.

I can almost guarantee that it will bomb or not do so well.

On one hand this is good news for Falcom support. On the other hand, this is literally part 8 of a 9 part series.

The game is absolutely incredible...if you've played the previous 7 games. I'm lucky enough to have played them, and this game is in the running for my personal game of the year. It's that good. No other game series on the planet is as good as The Legend of Heroes' Trails series when it comes to world building.

But this is absolutely not the place to start. So if you haven't played any of the previous 7 games, look elsewhere.

You don't need to play the other seven. Just the first two of the cold steel if you want to get into cold steel. Sure, the games take place in the same worlds but unless we're talking about certain characters, there is not much that you would miss out on.

That being said, I do agree that its weird that they don't bring in the first two instead of bringing in this one.

For Cold Steel III? No way. That game is incredibly tied to Trails in the Sky and the Crossbell games. You can get by without playing Trails in the Sky for Cold Steel I and II (but the Crossbell games are mandatory for Cold Steel I and II in my opinion). But Cold Steel III pulls everything that came before together. You can't play Cold Steel III without feeling like you missed out on a ton of content if you haven't played the previous two series.

I liked Y's 8 on switch and never played a falcon game before. I'll try playing this without playing the other trails games. I ain't scared!

The Falcom CEO continuously talked shit about the Switch and how people are moving over from the Vita to the PS4 and that there is no market on Nintendo systems. And here he is after realizing what nonsense he was saying.
