Toy store owner arrested for manufacturing/possessing counterfeit Pokemon and Mario merch

It's not-a me!

The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has arressted Wan Piao, owner of a toy import store in El Monte, California, and charged him with manufacturing and possessing more than US$1.4 million in counterfeit goods. Piao was in possession of more than 500,000 counterfeit items, all of which belonged to the Pokémon, Hello Kitty, and Super Mario franchises. Piao is charged with seven felony counts of counterfeit of a registered mark, and taking more than US$500,000 through fraud and embezzlement.

They should have been charged with visual pollution as well. What an ugly toy...

It’s not wrong. I’ve often been tempted to start a collection of funny knock-off toys. I did buy a set of fake amiibo cards I saw. The art was all interesting interpretations of the various amiibo figures. Pretty nice cards actually.

Mind sharing pics of the cards?!

Reminds me of the part where one was selling disney merchendise only to get beaten up afterwards....

Such a cruel world we live in.
