Journey to the Savage Planet dev says they're "looking into" a Switch version

Seems like they're doing more than looking into it

That headline might be a little confusing for those who have been paying attention to our game ratings posts over the last few months. Quite awhile ago, we shared a Brazilian ratings board listing for Journey to the Savage Planet on Switch, and that was followed up recently with a Switch ESRB rating as well. That should mean a port is a done deal, right? Well, things are now a little bit murky following comments from the dev team.

Developer Typhoon Studios's creative director Alex Hutchinson recently appeared on the Game Informer podcast, and he was asked about Journey to the Savage Planet on Switch. Hutchinson responded with the following.

“If we could ever get a Switch version together, I think it would be brilliant to have the two people next to each other, so we’re looking into it.”

Adding to that statement, Hutchinson said the team is “still figuring out how to handle” the game on Switch, and would most likely work with an outside studio for help.

I happen to think this conversation is just a bit of distraction by the developers. We clearly see they're more than considering a Switch release with the various ratings. I'm guessing they just aren't ready for the full reveal yet.
