Junichi Masuda asks Twitter user to let him relax and enjoy his birthday instead of prodding him about paid Pokemon DLC

A not-so-happy birthday

There's no doubt that 2019 was a rough year for Pokemon Co. and Game Freak. Some decisions were made that didn't sit well with fans, and complaints have been rolling in ever since. As you might expect, some fans have been cordial and even-keeled while voicing concern, while others have been a bit over-the-top.

Junichi Masuda has been dealing with both types of fans for months and months now, as they continue to send their ire his way via Twitter. One fan did so today, and the response Masuda offered up is actually quite depressing. Check out the Google-translated interaction below.

Fan: Please give a word about the removal of the old Pokemon to make money at DLC.

Junichi Masuda: It's a holiday today and it's a birthday, can you let me relax?

Fan: I'll do it later

Today is indeed Masuda's birthday, and it's clear he'd like just one day where he's not being bombarded from all directions with internet anger. Again, I'm not saying that fans don't have the right to be mad about certain aspects of Pokemon Sword and Shield. With that said, I do find it quite sad that Masuda can't seem to find a moment's peace, even on his birthday. It might be time to swear off social media for a bit.

Thanks to Andreslop24 for the heads up.
