Samurai Shodown devs explain why they're bringing the game to Switch, says Safari Games handled the port

We're happy they did!

While Samurai Shodown is already out on other platforms, the title is yet to hit Switch. That'll change on Feb. 25th, 2020, when the game is set to launch for Switch. In an interview with Siliconera, Game Director Nobuyuki Kuroki explains why they wanted the game on Switch, and who helped make it possible.

Our only wish is to allow more fans of this title to enjoy the game. Since the users who played this game speak highly of it, we are confident that our fans will be pleased with this version. However, it was quite difficult to port the game while keeping 60fps, which is the core of fighting games. Therefore, we really appreciate all the hard work done by SAFARI GAMES, the company in charge of porting the game to Switch.

I actually asked a developer at PAX east whether they were porting it internally or not and they said internally so either they misunderstood the question or that changed pretty quickly
