Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses conductor Eímear Noone becomes first woman to conduct the Oscars orchestra

Congrats, Eímear!

Here's a really interesting bit of trivia for you. Did you know that in its entire history, the Oscars has never had a female conductor? That's about to change this year, and Nintendo fans might be familiar with the woman taking on the job.

Eímear Noone has been named as the first female conductor for the Oscars, and she's certainly more than ready for the gig. Noone was part of the Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses tour, serving as conductor on multiple occasions. Now we're get to see her working her magic on prime time TV come Feb. 9th, 2020.

Congrats to Eímear Noone on landing the job, and becoming the first woman to do so! We can't wait to see her performance!

Thanks to Seansneachta for the heads up!

That's awesome. Quick question though: was she hired for being good or for being a woman?

I guess we'll never know, huh?

In many cases it could.be both. But I am convinced that Nintendo would.not go for "looks.before talent" whrn.it comes to something like Zelda and it's music. So it's probably because she's damn good at what she does.

Having been to the symphony I can say she was an incredible conductor.

I know she won’t or can’t, but it’d be awesome if she snuck in some Zelda melody’s.

Thanks for making this a Top Story RMC - Eímear deserves the exposure!

That's neat.

Too bad these awards shows are, and always have been, shallow, pointless nonsense.
