Ise Shima Mystery Guide: The False Black Pearl suspense drama DVD spin-off hits crowdfunding goal

Ise Shima Mystery Guide: The False Black Pearl is a mystery/adventure Famicom-style game that was released for the Switch awhile back. Developer Happymeal Inc. wanted to follow the success of that launch with a unique follow-up; a suspense drama DVD spinoff. The company was looking to bring in 6,000,000 yen to make that a reality, and with just 4 hours on their crowdfunding campaign left, the goal was hit.

The drama will be a retelling of the first game, and will have some story sections represented in retro game form. Even more intriguing, Happymeal Inc. will be producing multiple endings for the story, and pressing them onto various DVDs. This means backers will have no idea what ending is included on their DVD.

If all goes according to plan, Ise Shima Mystery Guide: The False Black Pearl will see release in Aug. 2020. Right now, the only way to get a DVD is by being a backer.
