AI: The Somnium Files seemed to be very well received when it first came out, especially by fans of the genre. Unfortunately, in the time between the game's original release and now, it seems to be under the attack of review bombers.

While we're not quite sure what the reason for the review bombing is, the game has been hit with a deluge of zero scores on Metacritic in just the last couple of weeks. There's speculation that the bombing is related to supportive LGBTQ comments in the game, but that has not been confirmed.

The worst part about all of this is that Akira Okada, the game's lead designer, has just found out about this happening. He tweeted about the situation, publicly wondering why the game was hit by so many low scores in such a short amount of time. His followers told him about review bombing, which is something he didn't even know about. Okada said he was unaware of the practice, as he likes to think positively.

At least things seem to be ending well with Okada. Since talking about the review score issue, a ton of fans have been tweeting him to tell him how much they love the game. Okada has said he really appreciates the support from fans, and will focus on the positive, rather than the negative.
