Bethesda puts together a 5+ hour rap playlist on Spotify to promote...DOOM Eternal

For the life of me, I can't figure this one out. Bethesda is currently promoting DOOM Eternal every way they can, and that includes some adverts on Spotify. Nothing wrong with that at all, as it's just one more way to spread the word on the game. The thing is, the form of promotion is a real stretch when it comes to actually being tied to anything DOOM.

Bethesda has created a 5+ hour playlist on Spotify that they call "Power Gaming." The playlist is above, and it contains nothing but wrap tracks. That doesn't really match well with DOOM Eternal's heavy metal soundtrack, or at least, what we know of it. Furthermore, the playlist is listed as being "Presented by Doom Eternal." You'd think if they were going to put together a musical playlist to promote DOOM Eternal, they would have gone with a genre that makes more sense for the game!

Perhaps this is yet another way to marry the game with the recent TV spot that was released. That spot featured a song called Rebel Renegade, which features Tommee Profitt and Beacon Light. It's certainly not a metal song, nor does it feel very DOOM at all. Fans of DOOM let Bethesda know that by giving the video a massive thumbs down ratio compared to the thumbs up.
