Can someone explain to me why this is being downvoted? Like is there a catch to the free trial or something that I missed? I don't see how this is a bad thing.

No catch as far as I can tell. I guess this was just an underwhelming choice. I personally have no interest in it myself but I can't speak for others.

People complain about the free games Sony and MS give every month too, no way will Nintendo be exempt (the difference is Nintendo never promised we'd get anything free beyond those NES and SNES games, so they're not obligated to do this).

It's not that ARMS was underwhelming, but anything attached to NSO will automatically be downvote bombed by the hatedom who believe Nintendo needs to incorporate Xbox Live and do everything they do not knowing Microsoft would sue the shit outta Nintendo for it.

These are the kind of people that will say that if Nintendo contributed to funding a cure for the coronavirus, that Nintendo started coronavirus in the first place. Nothing Nintendo does will ever make them happy and they will never give credit on the off-hand Nintendo makes something available charitably like giving N95 masks to local officials during the virus outbreak.

That's... kind of sad.

For me at least, I think it's really cool? Especially to get more familiar with the game before getting a character in Smash. I was somewhat interested in this game, but I didn't really want to pay for it, so playing it for free sounds great.

I just realized something. I remember playing this game in a beta test or something leading up to its release in 2017. You pretty much had to have a Joy-Con in each hand to throw punches, right? Wouldn't that make this game unplayable to Switch Lite owners?
