Select Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are running into a balloon-popping glitch

All Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have spotted balloon presents floating high above their island, which can be tracked down and popped to grab a special gift. Some players see them pop up more than others, and it seems those who've been popping balloons like crazy have run into a glitch.

Popping 300 balloons will net you a Nook Miles achievement, which is a goal everyone will hit at some point or another. The problem is, some players are saying they have stopped seeing balloons altogether after hitting that mark. Making things more confusing, other players have hit the 300 total and haven't experienced the drought.

As balloon-popping is a big part of the Bunny Day festivities, this bug has reared its ugly head at a particularly bad time. Hopefully Nintendo can push out a quick fix while the holiday is still going on.
