Here’s some hoppin’ info on Bunny Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A reminder from the Big N

Bunny Day is an in-game event that’s got every bunny talking! From April 1st till April 12th, you’ll be able to find Zipper T. Bunny on your island and go on an egg-citing egg hunt. You’ll also be able to craft some limited-time items.

To join the festivities, you’ll need to do some simple prep (please ask a parent-type person if you need some help with this):

1) Make sure that your game is up-to-date. Chances are that your game already updated itself to Version 1.1.1. But if you need to do it yourself, select the game’s icon on the HOME Menu, press the + Button, and select Software Update (internet connection required).

2) During the event, make sure that your user profile is linked with a Nintendo Account, and that you start the game while connected to the internet . (You just need to do this once). You’ll know it worked when your game says that it’s Version 1.1.1a. We hope you enjoy Bunny Day!

This is the worst thing they’ve ever added to Animal Crossing. Seriously, it’s awful! The idea of an egg hunt is fun but putting them in water is just the worst. Once I’ve finished all the jobs I can do in a day I just go fishing to raise money but so much of what I get now are eggs (6 in a row earlier!). I also just don’t even bother chasing balloons now given just how many of the egg ones pass by. One day of this stuff would’ve been fine but 12 days is silly, really putting me off playing it for now which is a shame because I’ve been really loving it up until this point.

Oh well. The world still spins!

It’s only day two of this event and it makes me not want to play. There are god damn eggs everywhere and that rabbit looks like the thing from Donnie Darko. Why is this event so long? A weekend would be enough.

Lol I forgot about Donnie Darko. First time I saw that rabbit I thought of the one from Silent Hill 3

The reason this event is long is because the ordinances from New Leaf were not carried over into New Horizons.

That means people who don't play all that often would be screwed out of events that were quick since Nintendo changed seasonal events to not happen for time travelers.

If events are shorter, those that play infrequently can't participate in events fully since they can't time travel to make up missed days.

They should at least give you some kind of option to turn it off when you’re done with it. Tell Tom Nook you don’t want to celebrate it any more or be able to tell Zipper to come back later or something. Giving busy people a bigger window to get in on events is great, and it’s something I’d be really appreciating if I was still working instead of isolating, but it’s frustrating for those who have the time to play every day.

It’s just so annoying how it intrudes on the core mechanics of the game. Like fishing is one of the few engaging things you can do once your general daily chores are out of the way and you’ve decorated what you want and this holiday really impedes on that (unless you really want the furniture). If they really had to go down this route they’d have been better off making the eggs much rarer. At least in past games you could ignore most holiday activities if you wanted to, I really hope the ones coming later this year are more subtle than this.

I like the event, but my problem is not the amount of eggs (in fact, I feel it's quite alright), but I'm not getting any crafting recipes and worry that I might not be able to get all of them (it's more than a dozen, right?) before the event is over ...

To me this event showcases just how great of an update to Animal Crossing this is. I am so determined to catch as much of everything to build all of the DIYs before the event goes away. Been having a blast. Was never really in to seasonal events before this

Enjoy Bunny "Day"? Nah, it has brought my enjoyment of the game to a screeching halt.

Now would probably be a good time to get back to Doom Eternal and wrap that up until that horrid rabbit and the eggs he has polluted my town with are gone.

Yeah gotta agree with everyone else. Bunny Day is TRASH. HOT GARBAGE! Also Zipper T. Bunny looks like an animatronic from FNAF. Terrible.
