The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition is definitely one of the most impressive Switch ports out there. A game that many thought wouldn't be possible actually happened, thanks to hard work from Saber Interactive. Wondering just how the team pulled it off? Roman Lebedev of Saber Interactive hosted a GTC 2020 presentation to get into the nitty-gritty details. Check out the synopsis of the panel below, then click over for the video.

A lot of old and new games are ported to Nintendo Switch; this talk will show that Switch is a capable platform that can run even the most demanding today’s games with little loss in fidelity. We describe in detail CPU, Memory and Build size optimizations and tradeoffs we made during the development of Switch version of Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.

Ah this was fascinating to watch (albeit confusing at times). It was also cool to hear that they used CD Project Reds new system for sound that they have developed for Cyberpunk.

After seeing games like Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and Starlink I figured no game was "impossible" but every good thing does take time and I'm glad CD Project Red took that time.
