Red Hook Studios took to Twitter on April Fools' Day to say that multiplayer was coming to Darkest Dungeon, and most fans laughed it off. Then the developer tweeted the same info again a day later to confirm that the first tweet wasn't a joke. Multiplayer is indeed coming to the game as part of the "The Butcher's Circus" DLC.

While the DLC has been slated for mid-May 2020 on PC, we aren't sure when it'll make its way to Switch. While we wait for news on that, check out full details on the DLC below.

The Hamlet may have fallen on hard times, but the creak of wagons and blare of abused trumpets signals a change in fortune for the bold and meek alike: the Circus is in town!

A weathered and bloodstained pavilion tent beckons, the Twins flank the flap, and a rheumy-eyed Barker announces:

"The Butcher demands a show!"

“Buy the ticket, take the ride.”
― Hunter S. Thompson
