Hulu service on Wii U ends earlier than expected in Japan
Who knew?
Back in Oct. 2019, we shared news of the Hulu app on Wii U coming to an end. It was announced that the app would be removed from the Wii U eShop in 2020, and service would halt completely on July 24th, 2020. Turns out the end date is much sooner than that.
Back on April 10th, 2020, a playback issue for the Hulu app popped up. There was no word on when a fix would be coming in, and now we know the answer is that one's not coming. Instead of getting a fix out there, service was ended early as of today. One-month vouchers are being offered as compensation for the early end.
